Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 Packs Nine Speakers and a Rotating Kickstand

Lenovo is pushing the limits of tablet design with the Tab Plus Gen 2, a device defined by a massive 22.7mm rear speaker housing. This upgraded model abandons subtlety for acoustic performance, cramming nine speakers into a chassis that prioritizes high-fidelity audio over traditional slim-profile aesthetics.

The standout hardware feature is a circular protrusion that serves two purposes: housing the speaker array and providing a versatile mounting point. This integrated kickstand rotates 360 degrees, allowing users to prop the tablet in landscape or portrait orientations, or even hang it from a hook. Lenovo designed the array with a combination of tweeters and woofers, enhanced by Dolby Atmos tuning and dedicated EQ modes for music and cinema.

Under the hood, the tablet moves to a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 octa-core processor. Memory configurations range from 6GB to 12GB of RAM, with storage options between 128GB and 256GB, further expandable up to 2TB via microSD. Beyond its primary function, the device doubles as a standalone Bluetooth speaker for external audio streaming.

While the previous iteration launched at $289.99, the Gen 2 will command a higher starting price of $399.99. Lenovo has not provided specific regional release dates, though the company confirmed plans for a rollout in select global markets soon.
