The model represents a technical evolution from the Argon version released earlier this month. While currently restricted to a specialized group of cybersecurity defense firms, Google plans to broaden access through its Fairwind Program. Engineers report that Carbon excels at complex, multi-step tasks, maintaining performance over extended durations and resisting common prompt injection attempts.
Google Debuts Gemini 4 Carbon with Focus on Cybersecurity
Google has unveiled Gemini 4 Carbon, a new frontier model designed to accelerate cyberdefense capabilities. By securing the top position on both the SEC-bench Pro and ExploitGym benchmarks, the model demonstrates a heightened ability to identify real-world vulnerabilities and generate secure code, outpacing competitors like GPT-6 Astra and Claude Opus 5.5.

Beyond defensive utility, Carbon targets increased reliability by halving the rate of unsupported claims compared to its predecessor. The company has set the pricing at $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, matching the introductory rate of the Argon model.
