The company reported earnings of $2.62 per share, surpassing the consensus estimate of $2.56 and marking a 21.3% increase over the previous year. This performance was largely driven by an average realized gold price of $4,264 per ounce, a 22.7% jump compared to the same period in 2025. However, operational realities painted a more complex picture. Gold production fell to 814,012 ounces, down 6.1% from last year, while all-in sustaining costs climbed nearly 24% to $1,648 per ounce.
CEO Ammar Al-Joundi attributed the firm's resilience to solid operational execution, confirming that Agnico Eagle remains on track to hit its full-year production guidance of 3.3 to 3.5 million ounces. Much of this optimism hinges on long-term expansion projects at Canadian Malartic, Detour Lake, Upper Beaver, and Hope Bay, which the company expects will boost annual output toward four million ounces by the early 2030s.
