The platform debuted with over $50 million in active silver leases. Unlike traditional precious metal products that rely on trading fees, thSLVR generates yield directly from the physical lending of silver to refiners and industrial fabricators. According to Theo’s Chief Investment Officer Iggy Ioppe, this model redirects income that historically flowed exclusively to banks back to the actual metal owners. Current lease rates, while down from October 2025 highs, remain elevated compared to historical norms, offering holders roughly 2.3% annually on three-month silver.
Theo Tokenizes Silver to Unlock Yield for Retail Investors
With silver markets facing record-low liquidity, fintech platform Theo has launched thSLVR, a tokenized product designed to capture income from industrial silver leasing. By moving the metal onto the blockchain, the company aims to democratize a historically opaque market previously dominated by institutional banking players.

Theo co-founder Abhi Pingle frames the product as a "money-market-plus" instrument, utilizing ultra-short-duration credit to keep yields responsive to interest rate fluctuations. By vaulting physical metal with StoneX, the platform provides institutional-grade security for investors while simultaneously easing inventory capital burdens for mid-sized manufacturers. As industrial demand—particularly from the solar sector—remains robust, Pingle expects silver’s unique physical properties to sustain its value, positioning the token as a viable yield-generating asset in a high-interest-rate environment.
