The company aims to be operationally prepared for an initial public offering by mid-2027, though management emphasized that no final decision on the exact timing or execution has been reached. BASF Taps Global Banks for Agricultural Unit Spin-Off
German chemicals giant BASF has appointed Citi, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, and J.P. Morgan as global coordinators for the planned public offering of its Agricultural Solutions business. The move marks a critical step in CEO Markus Kamieth’s broader strategy to restructure the conglomerate and sharpen its competitive focus.

This division currently faces intense market pressure from global rivals including Bayer, Corteva, and Syngenta. By spinning off the agricultural arm, BASF intends to streamline its portfolio and reduce overhead, forming a central component of Kamieth's mandate to overhaul the group's corporate structure.
