iOS 27.3 beta hints at chatbot support for Apple’s HomeView

A “Conversational Apps” flag in Apple’s iOS 27.3 beta points to possible chatbot support for its smart home hub, HomeView. The code does not identify any compatible apps, but ChatGPT and Claude are among the services that could fit the category.

The beta also appears to add bidirectional audio routing and session management, according to X user pdfu, who said those features are “still not fully wired up.”

Apple has added anti-spoofing protections, the beta indicates. After three failed attempts, users would have to authenticate with an iPhone. A lockout system would impose increasingly long waits, beginning with one hour for the second lockout and reaching eight hours for the fourth.

Apple has not officially announced either feature, and has not said when they might become available.
