Developers can now build custom "app skills" that chain multiple tasks into single voice commands. The integration allows the assistant to operate seamlessly without requiring users to specify an app’s name when it is active, in a Live Activity, or already part of a conversation. For instance, a user might request a ride-share vehicle and later modify the pickup location mid-trip simply by speaking to the device.
Siri Gains Deep Integration With Third-Party iOS Apps
Apple is expanding Siri AI's reach, allowing the voice assistant to execute commands directly within third-party applications. Starting with the iOS 27.3 Developer Preview, the assistant gains the ability to process personal context and screen awareness, fundamentally shifting how users interact with their installed software through natural language prompts.

This update mirrors the expanded capabilities Apple is pushing into its own ecosystem, including core tools like Mail, Photos, and Safari. By leveraging on-screen awareness, the assistant can now perform complex organizational tasks, such as filtering files by inactivity or locating specific venues from past travel history. Users can query the assistant directly to discover which specific functions are available within each integrated application.
