Apple integrates generative AI across productivity and creative apps

Apple is embedding AI assistants directly into its Pages, Keynote, and Numbers suite, allowing users to automate slide design, document restructuring, and complex data visualization. The update, built on a hybrid of Apple and OpenAI models, signals a aggressive push to modernize the company's core software ecosystem through generative intelligence.

The new assistant functions as an intelligent layer within the iWork suite. In Keynote, the system handles slide animation and refinement based on document context, while Numbers users can leverage AI to build custom tables and generate appropriate chart types. Beyond internal models, Apple now supports the Model Context Protocol on macOS 27 and later, enabling third-party AI agents to interface directly with these productivity tools.

Creative software is receiving similar upgrades. Pixelmator Pro introduces a Generate Fill feature that matches lighting and texture when editing images via text prompts. Logic Pro for Mac and iPad gains an AI assistant capable of configuring vocal tracks from scratch, supplemented by an on-device browser that automatically tags and classifies audio files. Final Cut Pro completes the rollout with integrated MotionVFX assets, including templates and transitions. These features are currently arriving in beta for devices compatible with Apple Intelligence running iOS, iPadOS, or macOS 27.
