The new Open Eyes Quick Action surfaces as an icon directly over images when the app identifies closed eyelids. Unlike older versions of this technology found in Photoshop Elements, which required manual stitching from secondary photos, this implementation leverages the user’s existing Lightroom library. By referencing other images of the same person, the AI generates replacements that preserve the subject’s unique eye color, shape, and size.
Adobe Lightroom brings one-tap eye correction to mobile
A single tap is all it takes to fix a blink in a group portrait. Adobe has integrated generative AI into its Lightroom mobile app, allowing users to automatically detect closed eyes and replace them with open versions that match the subject's lighting, pose, and original features.

While Adobe offers similar generative capabilities within the desktop version of Photoshop, those workflows are more complex and require manual intervention. The Lightroom mobile update prioritizes speed, though access is gated by a subscription model. Free users gain two attempts at the correction before being prompted to sign up for a Creative Cloud plan to secure additional generative credits.
