The six-episode series, which originally debuted on the BBC, arrives on Apple TV on October 7th. It blends British dry wit with magical realism, offering a narrative that balances comedic chaos with the emotional weight of a man clinging to the past. Pearce Quigley stars as Michael, while Michael Palin portrays his father, the catalyst for the show’s supernatural turn.
Apple TV Adds Supernatural Comedy Small Prophets to 2026 Lineup
Michael Sleep spends his days working a stagnant hardware job and caring for his elderly father, paralyzed by the seven-year disappearance of his girlfriend. His life shifts when his father introduces an alchemical recipe for growing tiny, magical beings capable of answering any question, including the one haunting his existence.
This addition reflects Apple TV’s aggressive 2026 strategy to diversify its catalog against major competitors like Netflix and Disney. Following a year that spanned the horror-comedy Widow’s Bay and the return of heavy hitters like Ted Lasso and Silo, Small Prophets serves as a compact, character-driven pivot for the platform.
