Satya Nadella praised Roslansky in an internal memo for solidifying the product and engineering foundations necessary for the company’s current strategic shift. The departure comes at a pivotal moment, arriving only one week after Microsoft unveiled its new Copilot initiative, which the firm is now branding as the central operating system for productivity.
Microsoft Leadership Shakeup as Office and Teams Chief Departs
After an 18-year tenure across LinkedIn and Microsoft, Ryan Roslansky is stepping down from his role overseeing Office and Teams. His exit triggers a broader reorganization within the company, marking a significant transition just weeks after he warned that unchecked AI-generated content could lead to a digital doom loop for workers.
Responsibility for the Office and Teams divisions will transition to Charles Lamanna, integrating them into the Copilot, Agents, and Platform organization. This change represents the second major restructuring of the productivity suite this year, following the retirement of long-time executive Rajesh Jha. As part of the broader realignment, Chief Design Officer Jon Friedman will now report to Copilot lead Jacob Andreou, while Dan Shapero steps in to lead LinkedIn.
