A tactile response is coming to the desktop peripheral market as Microsoft prepares to launch its second-generation Surface Mouse on October 13th. Priced at $79.99, the device introduces haptic feedback to the Windows 11 ecosystem, allowing users to feel physical cues during clicks, drags, and alignment tasks across various applications.
Hardware design has also undergone a significant overhaul since the original 2016 model. The updated mouse features a soft-touch top surface tailored for extended use and incorporates Bluetooth 6.0, enabling pairing with up to three distinct devices. A new customizable action button sits at the heart of the interface, arriving pre-configured for Copilot but remaining fully programmable through the Surface app. The launch coincides with the release of the refreshed 12-inch Surface Pro and 13-inch Surface Laptop, with the mouse available in black and platinum finishes.
