Adobe is launching a mobile version of its flagship video editor for iPhone later this month, aiming to bridge the gap between simple capture and professional post-production. The new app promises a multi-track timeline and high-end creative tools, marking a significant shift from the company's previous lightweight mobile offerings.
While the base download remains free, Adobe plans to monetize the ecosystem through cloud storage subscriptions and generative AI credits. Mike Polner, vice president of creator product marketing, describes the move as an effort to put professional creative control into the hands of mobile users without the daunting complexity of desktop software. An Android version is currently under development to follow the initial iOS release.
