The strategic shift comes as investors scrutinize Novo’s ability to reclaim its leadership position in an obesity drug market projected to surpass $100 billion annually by 2030. Novo Nordisk CEO Pivots Strategy Amid Rising Competition
Facing mounting pressure from Eli Lilly in the lucrative weight-loss drug race, Novo Nordisk CEO Mike Doustdar has launched a sweeping cultural overhaul. During a global town hall at the company’s Copenhagen headquarters, he signaled a departure from traditional internal operations to prioritize a more aggressive, consumer-centric approach to market dominance.

Doustdar, who assumed leadership in August 2023, introduced a framework titled "The Novo Way," which includes a rebranding of the company's name and logo. The new corporate philosophy centers on four core principles: customer obsession, competitiveness, clarity, and a commitment to integrity. This internal push precedes a critical capital markets day scheduled for Monday, where management will face further evaluation from stakeholders regarding the company's long-term trajectory.
