European investors led the charge, contributing 17.3 tonnes to the total. Strong buying in the UK and Switzerland, which added $875 million and $657 million respectively, suggests a strategic rebuilding of positions following June's sell-off. This pattern mirrors earlier market behavior where European funds sought to capture value after significant price corrections.
Asian-listed funds added 4.8 tonnes, maintaining their status as the year's leading contributors to global inflows despite a slight slowdown in pace. In China, safe-haven demand spiked as the CSI 300 Stock Index posted its weakest performance since 2016. Conversely, North American markets remain the laggard, struggling with a persistent year-to-date deficit despite a minor recovery of 0.3 tonnes in July.
