Spider-Man: Brand New Day Claims Split IMAX Screen Time

After a historic $430 million box office weekend, IMAX is recalibrating its North American footprint. Starting August 6, Spider-Man: Brand New Day will share premium screens with Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, marking a rare strategic shift for the exhibitor as both blockbusters continue to pull in substantial audiences.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day Claims Split IMAX Screen Time

Spider-Man: Brand New Day arrives in select North American digital IMAX locations this Thursday, pivoting from its initial release to accommodate a dual-feature schedule. This move follows the film's massive $355 million debut on July 31, currently ranked as the second-largest North American opening since 2019’s Avengers: Endgame.

While The Odyssey concludes its exclusive three-week IMAX run, the film remains a fixture in the global network. It has already secured $221 million in global IMAX earnings, becoming the only title to drive multiple weekends exceeding $40 million. This performance propelled July to become the highest-grossing month in IMAX history, bolstered by a collective industry surge that included Toy Story 5, Moana, and Minions & Monsters.
